João Fonte

João Fonte is an archaeologist with a specialization in applying remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS) to landscape archaeology. He holds a PhD in Archaeology from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Following his doctorate, he secured competitive funding for postdoctoral research projects at both the University of Exeter, UK, and the Institute of Heritage Sciences, Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in Spain. He has authored numerous scholarly publications within the field of landscape archaeology. He will be responsible for remote sensing and GIS spatial analysis-related tasks in the ERC Last Journey project.
